The Umbrella Torch Mount allows the user to mount a light in the upwards direction on the back of most modern helmets to provide an indirect umbrella lighting effect of a room or structure. This technique allows you to keep your
hands free for work task, such as searching a suspect, room, CCP ect.... Employing this technique will also eliminate the need to search for light switches in large rooms with multiple open spaces, industrial areas where light switches may be located in abnormal places as well as where the power may have been cut off completely. A secondary benefit of this technique is to reduce the chance of temporarily blinding of your teammates like that of traditional horizontal mounted lights.

The Umbrella Torch Mount uses a 5 slot 1913 Picatinny rail section that can be used to attach any light that uses this standard mounting system. You can also remove the rail section to be able to attach any scout light directly to the mount for a lower profile fit.
